standard chartered race

i'm in school again, haha. dumb com! many ccas are having camp i think. like bball and soccer and something else. so fun. haha.

eliza stayed over on saturday, cuz we plus my sister were supposed to work at the standard chartered marathon, for adidas. we were supposed to report at 4 am at the padang, but we overestimated the time to get there and we reached at 3.30 am.

i liked the surroundings. i've always liked that area, the whole shenton way, esplanade area. it has this calming effect over me. i don't know why. but i don't think i'll like working there. haha. nick was somewhere around working as route marshal. haha poor friend, he had to stay until like 3 pm. but i got to go back at 10! and i was already freaking tired. and worse thing was, he reported at 1 am? haha.

we were supposed to act as "cheerleaders", cheering them on as they start and end the race. we held those huge adidas placards, it's super heavy and bulky. at the start of the race, we all stuck out our hands for the contestants to hit. haha, quite fun. and the morning was very windy and cool (: didn't sweat at all, yayy.

we saw all the runners run in. the first few all had something in common, they had determination in those eyes. they did the race for themselves, particularly those who did the full marathon. and i saw the dragonboat team running the full marathon. recognised the coach first, plus the whole team in tow. there was this silent conviction they had that i somehow sensed. though like the whole event doesn't concern me, i still feel pretty sad over the whole thing. the reuben stays near me! haha.

saw a couple of familiar people. saw bryan and chekkeng! haha, both of them were running the half marathon. bryan was damn fast! but he looked so different. haha. saw rachpek doing the 10km run. i shouted at her, doubt she heard me. haha. and many many ac people running. plus like, raffles and cj runners.

was and am damn tired after everything. but it was a good experience (:
